  • Teen Childbirth Prep & Infant Care

    This is a two-session class to prepare adolescents for childbirth and infant care. Session one focuses on preparation for labor & delivery. Session two focuses on nurturing your newborn - instruction about newborn behavior and care.

    Location: MidState Medical Center - Rear of Cafeteria

    This class includes discussion on what a new baby looks like, does, and what a sibling can do with their new brother or sister. This class also includes listening to a story, watching a video on being a big brother or big sister, and practice things like changing diapers and holding and burping a pretend baby. This class concludes with a tour of the Family Birthing Center and when permissible, the sibling gets to see a newborn infant. Online registration survey questions are mandatory and must be completed in order to secure your registration.

    A four-week in depth series designed to give parents an understanding of birth options and coping skills for labor and delivery. Discussion, practice/demonstration of muscle toning, relaxation, breathing techniques, and newborn care as well as film presentation and a tour of the Family Birthing Center are all part of the 4 week classes. Please bring a pillow with you to the class.
