To provide the very best care for our patients, we need a high degree physician involvement, input and engagement. That’s where HHC account managers come in – their jobs are to connect with physicians in the community on a daily basis, seeking feedback and providing information so that administrators and clinicians can work together as a team. This teamwork can be crucial to the future success of Hartford HealthCare and all its affiliated physicians.
Directed by HHC Vice President of Sales and Business Development Thomas Meggers, our eight account managers help link the innovative services provided at each of our hospitals and outpatient centers to our community providers. As the only system in the region with such a robust team, HHC is able to stay connected and improve care coordination through two-way coordination with our provider partners.
By assuring our community providers know of the advanced treatment and programs occurring within our system of care every day, and listening to what our physicians and other providers have to say, we have created an environment of collaboration that we believe will ultimately lead to success for everyone.

Melissa has been with Hartford HealthCare since 2012, and has more than 15 years of experience in client relations and retention, business development, project management and solution implementations. Melissa is dedicated in delivering high quality customer service and education to referring professionals within the service areas of the HHC BHN, including Natchaug Hospital, Rushford and the Institute of Living. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Central Connecticut State University.

Kevin brings more than 15 years of sales and operational management experience as well as 19 years of pre-hospital medical experience to his position. Prior to joining HHC, Kevin was a director of sales operations as well as a health and management consultant within the sports industry. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science, a Master’s Degree in Arts and is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Health Administration. Kevin covers the Hospital of Central Connecticut Service area, which includes the New Britain and Bradley campuses, as well as MidState Medical Center.

Kaitlyn has been with HHCRN since 2014 where she started as a Patient Service Representative within one of our outpatient rehabilitation locations and then moved up to become a Business Systems Associate. She has previous experience in the build and roll-out of EPIC as well as the creation of workflows for staff. Kaitlyn is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University with a Master’s in Communication with a focus in healthcare. She works to promote the rehabilitation services provided by Hartford Healthcare within the Hartford and Central region and creating relationships between providers and the rehabilitation staff.

Bill’s background in sports medicine helps him understand the value of care coordination, a trait that he brings to his account manager role. He is a former high school athletic trainer in Hartford, South Windsor; and Georgia, where he also was a volunteer athletic trainer in the 1996 Olympic Games; director of an occupational health center in Milford, Conn.; Hartford HealthCare Coordinator of Sports Medicine and Physician Liaison; and HHC Director of Sports Medicine Services, a position he still currently holds in addition to being an account manager. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, with a concentration in Athletic Training, from Central Connecticut State University. His goal in his current role is to increase awareness of sports medicine throughout the physician community of Hartford HealthCare, and to develop relationships to enhance care coordination.

Melinda joins the HHC team with over 14 years of sales and marketing experience. Prior to HHC, Melinda worked for Comcast and WFSB Channel 3 as a Senior sales representative responsible for developing marketing strategies for all types of businesses locally as well as nationally. Melinda brings her experience to the Hartford region working to connect Primary care providers and specialists to each other and HH. She is instrumental in assisting providers and practices navigate the HHC system by identifying and removing barriers while communicating feedback to appropriate leadership. In her role she is also responsible for educating providers about services, organizational updates and programs that are available to their patient population. Melinda holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Connecticut. Her territory includes Hartford County.

Samantha has been with Hartford HealthCare for six years and has three years of experience in healthcare sales and account management. She previously worked at Clinical Laboratory Partners and served in various capacities ranging from technical roles to account management. Samantha works with community physicians to connect them to Hartford HealthCare’s Epic electronic medical record system via the HHC Community Connect program. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Bimolecular Sciences from the University of Central Connecticut.

Melissa comes to the Hartford HealthCare team with over 12 years of healthcare experience, with a background working in pharmaceutical sales. She covers eastern portions of the Hartford Region. Her career at Hartford HealthCare started as an outpatient registered dietitian. She then she transitioned into the physician relations department, working as a physician liaison to improve and enhance relationships among providers and hospitals. Melissa is a graduate of Saint Joseph’s University in West Hartford and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutritional Science. She is a highly organized and friendly professional, able to establish long-term, positive and influential relationships with all members of the healthcare team. Charlene has been with HHC since July 2015. She has more 25 years of experience in healthcare and physician relations. She works to educate community providers about Hartford HealthCare services in the East Region, which includes Backus and Windham hospitals. She assists the providers with coordination of patient care within the orthopedics, cardiovascular, neuroscience, oncology and other service lines. Her former roles include Graduate Medical Education Program Coordinator and Physician Relations Consultant for the Eastern Connecticut Health Network; Physician Liaison, UCLA; Physician Liaison, Cedars –Sinai; and Director of Physician Support Services, Georgia Baptist Medical Center. Charlene’s territory includes New London, Tolland, and Windham counties.
